Santiago Diaz, Welding
This welding practice was done the friday May 29.My focus was to find settings within the self feeding welders setting in which i would feel confortable welding. I first tried to make staright lines on the plate until i found 3 different settings:slow, intermediate, and fast. I then tried welding a channel onto the plate and that onc e theres too much of a gap or cave in, more welding material will be required and slower movemens, therefore the slow feed will be most convenient. I then welded a plabe onto the plate trying to create a 90 degree angle, once accomplished i tried to weld a piece of thin aluminum and realized that these type of welder will not weld aluminum and found that once your in one stop for too long, the welder whill make wholes on the material. After some research i found out that aluminum can we welded with an arc welder.
